Perfect Match
is similar to eHarmony and Chemistry.com in that the clear
emphasis of the site is compatibility and finding long-term partners instead of a quick date. While other dating sites
offer hundreds of matches and leave it up to the member to determine
whether or not there is a match, Perfect Match uses a comprehensive
matching system to find your matches. This means fewer results,
but a better probability (if you trust their matching system) that
the matches you are presented with will work out. For thoses who
like to select their own matches, Perfect Match does allow you to
conduct your own customized searches as well, so in a sense, it
offers the best of both worlds.
Upon joining the site, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire. The heart of the questionnaire is something called Duet Analysis, based on Perfect Match's Duet Compatibility System, which is designed to isolate the core elements that make up your personality. Completing this section requires answering true or false to a series of questions.There are 8 sections to completing this section, but it's easy to complete since you will be able to answer most questions quickly (see below for sample questions).
Once you are done with the questionnaire, you will be able to read your Duet Analysis, which is essentially a personality profile. In addition, you can view your matches at this point, and communicate with them if you upgrade to a premium or platinum membership. You will also be able to use the search feature to browse profiles of singles in your area. To maximize your chances of success, we recommend taking a hybrid approach, where you contact matches that Perfect Match finds for you, but also spend a few minutes each day looking at other members profiles.
The site offers a lot of extras, including advice and articles by "Dr. Pepper", a University of Washington sociology professor. In addition, a recently launched feature is a partnership with Dating on Demand, where you have the opportunity to have your video appear on Perfect Match as well as on television through Dating on Demand, a service offered by Cox/Comcast. This feature is still in beta, but you will eventually be able to attend local events where you will be able to create a video profile of yourself for free.
