Lavalife is an all-inclusive dating site that greatly facilitates interaction among its members through a number of different channels of communication. Current offerings by Lavalife include it's dating site (called LavalifeWEB), in addition to LavalifeMOBILE, LavalifePRIME (singles over 45), and LavalifeVOICE.
Like most dating sites, Lavalife offers visitors the ability to search members for free and create an online profile, which can be listed in one, two, or all three of the following communities:
- Dating (for people primarily interested in meeting people)
- Relationship (for those seeking a serious relationship)
- Intimate Encounters
Members can also upload pictures and videos. Creating a profile is a very quick process, and only takes a couple minutes. The questions cover only the basics, but enough to reveal what type of person you are. The goal here is not to capture as much about a person as possible in a single profile, but rather to give just enough information to help people decide whether they want to start an interaction. Interactions can occur on many different levels, but include such methods as sending a message, sending a "smile" (expression of interest), sending an Instant Message if the user is online, and contacting via phone.
Compared to other sites, Lavalife lets you do a lot more for free. Creating a profile, searching other members, and sending smiles is all free. If someone initiates contact with you, you may also respond to them for free (most sites would charge for this capability). If you want to initiate contact with others yourself, however, you will need to have a paid membership.
